Profile of the Allianz Group: The Largest Insurance Group in the World (G4-6, G4-15, G4-16)

The history of the Allianz Group began in 1890, in Berlin, Germany, and on December 8, 2015, the Group celebrated 125 years of operations. To celebrate the date, events were promoted in the arenas that carry the Allianz name, located in Germany, England, Australia, France, and Brazil. Part of the revenue from the events was geared toward social institutions that work with children and adolescents in the regions where the company is located. In Brazil, the Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, SP, held the All Colors Festival, and the funds were geared toward the social projects developed by the Charity Association of the Employees of the Allianz Group (ABA) and by the Ayrton Senna Institute.

Throughout this long journey, the Allianz Group has become one of the largest insurance groups in the world, with approximately 148,000 employees and 85 million customers in more than 70 countries. Allianz is the largest global insurance company in property and casualty, and credit insurance (through Euler Hermes), in addition to being the largest provider of Assistance Services (through Allianz Global Assistance). In 2015, turnover of the Allianz Group worldwide reached €125.2 billion, the largest in its history.

The Allianz Group also closely monitors global trends and the needs of new consumers, taking into account the habits of the various audiences in order to develop its products. The Group also relies on the Allianz Technology Center (Allianz Zentrum Für Technik - AZT), in Germany, which is a reference in the analysis of failures and accidents in the industry, aiming to develop risk prevention and, especially, reinforce road safety. Another company differentiator is the constant search for renewable sources of energy to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
